Dr. Philip Baer is a graduate of McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine, where he was the class gold medallist. He completed his rheumatology fellowship at the University of Toronto. Dr. Baer is the Medical Director of ivari and Canadian Premier Life insurance companies; Chair of the Section of Rheumatology of the Ontario Medical Association (OMA); a Board Director of the Ontario Rheumatology Association (ORA); Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Canadian Rheumatology Association (CRA); and a member of the CRA Planetary Health taskforce.
Awards: GTA Community Rheumatologist of the Year (2011); OMA Section Service Award and ORA Rheumatologist-of-the-Year (2012); CRA Practice Reflection Silver Award (2016); CRA Master Award and OMA Life Member Award (2023).
