Cathy Zhang is a Toronto-based physician who seeks to break down barriers in bringing together the healthcare system. She’s been supporting health startups as an advisor, angel investor, or through angel syndicates and venture funds. She has also contributed as a Medical Advisor and Director in various digital health startups, both in Silicon Valley and in Toronto.
Cathy also has an interest in global health which has led her to work at the World Health Organization HQ inGeneva, and to serve as a consultant in global health to the Department of Emergency Radiology at the University of British Columbia (UBC); at the latter of these, she created and co-chaired a much-needed radiology specialty track, now permanently established, at the World Congress of Disaster and Emergency Medicine.
Cathy is a clinical lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and earned her Medical Doctor and Master of Surgery (MD,CM) from McGill University.
